Gas Safe Register

The Gas Safe Register replaced the CORGI gas register in Great Britain and the Isle of Man on 1 April 2009. Anyone carrying out work on gas must be registered with Gas Safe Register. If not, they are breaking the law and putting you and your family at risk. A Gas Safe registered engineer has been checked to make sure they are competent and qualified to work safely and legally with gas.

Every engineer will carry a Gas Safe Register ID card with their own unique licence number, showing the type of gas work they are qualified to do. Before any gas work is carried out, always make sure you ask to see their Gas Safe Register ID card

Engineers have a range of qualifications that allow them to carry out specific types of gas work. It’s important to check what work they are qualified to do before you employ them.
You can find this information on the back of your engineer’s Gas Safe Register ID card.
Gas Safe registered engineers are professionals and will be happy to show their ID card to you.
